CREATE A SMART ACTIVATION &
HOW TO PROGRAM IT
A Smart Activation engagement campaign informs your visitors about new discoveries, events, sales, featured services & products, new arrivals, favorites and more.
Once you have created your Smart Activation engagement campaign, it is mandatory to program an ‘’Activation’’ within the campaign. This guide will walk you through it step by step.
Please note: For the purpose of this example, a test environment is used, called ‘’Operations Venue’’
STEP 1: Program your activation
1.1 Once your smart activation is displaying in ‘’Active Messages’’ (Purple square), a yellow warning will appear on your ‘’Engagement’’ dashboard section.
1.2 This warning prompts you to program your ‘’Activation’’ by clicking the ‘’Activations’’ button (top right-hand corner). See the image below.
STEP 2: Click ‘’Create an activation’’ at the top right-hand corner.
STEP 3: Choose the type of activation you wish to create. Then click the logo.
- For Wildcard: Go to ‘’STEP 4’’
- For List: Go to ‘’STEP 6’’
- For Event: Go to ‘’STEP 7’’
STEP 4: Create your Wildcard Activation
4.1 Add your activation name in the ‘’Activation Name’’ field
4.2 Select the dates you want your activation to be active
4.3 Select your language (You can select English, French or both), then click ‘’Next’’
4.4 Add your Wildcard content by filling up all the fields, then click ‘’Next’’ (See image below)
4.5 On this page you can preview your Wildcard Activation, then click ‘’Finish’’ to save your activation.
Please note, you can click ‘’Back’’ if you wish to make some changes. You will still have the option to edit your activation after saving it.
STEP 5: From this dashboard, you can see your Wildcard activation which you just completed at step 4.5 and its status (See image below)

Completed: Your activation is no longer active
Ongoing: Your activation is still active
Upcoming: Your activation is future dated

STEP 6: Create your List Activation
6.1 Follow ‘’STEP 1’’
6.2 Follow ‘’STEP 2’’
6.3 Follow ‘’STEP 3’’
6.4 Add your activation in the ‘’Activation Name’’ field
6.5 Add your redirection link in the ‘’URL’’ field
6.6 Select the dates you want your activation to be active
6.7 Select your language (You can select English, French or both), then click ‘’Next’’
6.8 Click ‘’New item’’ to add your item (See image below)
6.9 Add your new item content by filling up all the fields.
Upload the item image as well, then click ‘’Create’’ (See image below)
6.10 Once your item is created, it will appear on the ‘’Item selection’’ page (See image below)
From this page, you can preview, edit or delete your item.
If you need to add more new items, click ‘’New item’’ and follow ‘’STEP 6.9’’
6.11 You still need to complete the creation process by checking the box of all the items you want to display in your final list. Then click ‘’Finish’’
6.12 From the Activations dashboard, you can preview your Activation List. Click on the preview logo .

STEP 7: Create your Event Activation
7.1 Add your activation name in the ‘’Activation Name’’ field
7.2 Select the dates you want your activation to be active
7.3 Select your language (You can select English, French or both), then click ‘’Next’’
7.4 Add your Event content by filling up all the fields, then click ‘’Next’’ (See image below)
7.5 Your Event preview will automatically appear, click ‘’Finish’’ to save your Event.
You will still have the option to edit your activation after saving it.
